Ingredients
  • 12 ounces Fresh Cranberries (Fresh or frozen, thawed)
  • 0.5 cup Red Onion Finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup Orange Juice
  • 0.25 cup Lime Juice
  • 1 Jalapeño Pepper Seeded and minced (adjust to taste)
  • 0.25 cup Light Brown Sugar Packed
  • 2 tablespoons Cilantro Chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black Pepper

Equipment

  • Medium Bowl

Method

Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the cranberries, red onion, orange juice, lime juice, jalapeño, brown sugar, cilantro, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  2. Gently stir to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Add more jalapeño for extra heat, or more brown sugar for added sweetness.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. For the best flavor, let the salsa sit in the refrigerator for several hours or even overnight (up to 24 hours).
  6. Before serving, give the salsa another gentle stir.
  7. Serve with tortilla chips, grilled chicken, fish tacos, or as a topping for pork tenderloin.

Notes

For a smoother salsa, you can pulse the ingredients briefly in a food processor before refrigerating. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
