- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Step 3: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Step 4: Sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Step 5: Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
- Step 6: Bake the base for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool completely in the pan.
- Step 7: In a medium bowl, combine creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth, then spread over the cooled brownie base.
- Step 8: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt granulated sugar until deep amber, then whisk in butter, heavy cream, and sea salt. Allow to cool slightly before pouring over peanut butter layer.
- Step 9: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt semi-sweet chocolate chips and vegetable oil until smooth, then pour over the caramel layer.
- Step 10: Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set. Lift out of the pan using parchment paper and cut into squares.
