Ingredients

For the Peanut Butter Layer
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter natural, unsweetened varieties recommended
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
For the Chocolate Topping
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Spatula
  • 8x8 inch baking dish
  • Microwave-safe Bowl
  • Measuring Cups
  • Knife

Method

  1. Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, graham cracker crumbs, unsweetened cocoa powder, and melted unsalted butter. Mix until smooth and well combined, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Step 2: Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal. Transfer the peanut butter mixture into the dish and press it down evenly using a spatula.
  3. Step 3: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and fully melted.
  4. Step 4: Pour the melted chocolate over the pressed peanut butter layer and spread it evenly with a spatula.
  5. Step 5: Place the baking dish in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or until the chocolate is set and the bars are firm.
  6. Step 6: Once set, remove the bars from the baking dish using the overhanging parchment paper. Cut into squares or rectangles and serve.

Notes

For cleaner cuts, warm your knife under hot water before slicing the bars. You can also sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of the chocolate layer for added flavor.
