Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- Make the crust: Whisk together flour and salt. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in brown sugar. Gradually add ice water, mixing until the dough just comes together.
- Press dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Make the filling: In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar, granulated sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined. Stir in pecans.
- Pour filling over the crust.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is lightly golden brown.
- Let cool completely before lifting out using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into bars and serve.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar. You can also add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the filling. Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
