  • 2 cups Bisquick Baking Mix
  • 1 pound Breakfast Sausage browned and drained
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon Onion Powder optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper freshly ground, optional

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, crumble the cooked sausage. Add Bisquick baking mix, milk, cheese (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper (if using).
  3. Gently mix until just combined. Do not overmix; the dough will be slightly sticky.
  4. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls using your hands or a cookie scoop.
  5. Place the balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of sage or red pepper flakes to the dough. These sausage balls are best served fresh from the oven, but can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
