  • 2 bags frozen hash browns 30 oz each
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup 10.5 oz
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup additional shredded cheddar cheese for topping

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, chopped onion, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Step 3: Add the frozen hash browns to the mixture and stir until completely coated.
  4. Step 4: Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and spread it evenly.
  5. Step 5: Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.
  6. Step 6: Bake for 45-50 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Step 7: Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

This casserole can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator. It reheats well and can also be frozen.
