Instructions
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream and dry onion soup mix.
  2. If using, add the mayonnaise, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
  3. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. This step enhances the taste.
  4. Before serving, gently stir the dip again to ensure even consistency.
  5. If desired, garnish with the chopped fresh chives and parsley.
  6. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and serve immediately with your favorite tortilla chips, potato chips, vegetables, or crackers.

Notes

For a richer flavor, you can sauté some finely chopped onions in butter before adding them to the dip (adjust seasoning accordingly). Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
